The HDZero Whoop Lite VTX is an ultra-lightweight, high-definition digital video transmitter explicitly engineered to bring crisp digital telemetry to 1S, 2S, and 3S micro whoops and toothpick platforms. Stripping away heavy structural casings to achieve a bare board weight of just 4.5 grams, this micro transmitter delivers a fixed-rate, low-latency 720p digital video stream at 60fps. Packaged alongside an 80mm MIPI ribbon data cable and tailored soft-mount dampers, it features adjustable power configurations and SmartAudio remote telemetry control, providing a high-performance digital upgrade path for micro-airframe classes without compromising overall throttle response

Features

Minimalist Weight-Optimized Blueprint: Shaves mass down to a mere 4.5 grams, allowing high-definition digital hardware to be deployed on micro indoor racers while protecting agile power-to-weight flight dynamics.

High-Definition Fluid 60fps Pipeline: Transmits a continuous 720p digital transmission stream, eliminating the frame ghosting, screen tearing, and static interference lines common to analog systems.

Four-Lane MIPI CSI Video Pipeline: Utilizes a dedicated 20-pin hardware interface to receive high-fidelity, uncompressed YUV422 digital data from compatible digital nano and micro camera sensors.

Adjustable Power and SmartAudio Telemetry: Features variable output transmitter levels supporting a close-range 25mW racing profile up to 200mW for deeper structural penetration, adjustable directly via your radio transmitter sticks.

Standardized Board Mounting Pattern: Designed with an industry-standard 25.5mm × 25.2mm layout, providing native drop-in stack alignment on top of standard micro AIO flight controllers.

Resilient Low-Voltage Input Rail: Built with an onboard regulation rail that safely handles direct power inputs from 1S to 3S flight battery configurations, preventing video blackouts during high-throttle voltage sags.

Operational Instructions

Mechanical Stack Integration: Insert the included M3-to-M2 rubber shock-absorbing dampers into the 25.5mm mounting holes of the Whoop Lite VTX board. Position the transmitter on top of your flight controller's electronic stack layout, ensuring components do not pinch surface-mount parts.

Digital MIPI Ribbon Interlocking: Guide one end of the included 80mm 20-pin MIPI ribbon cable into the VTX board's MIPI socket. Lower the mechanical pressure locking bar to lock it. Connect the opposite end of the ribbon cable to your compatible digital camera module, ensuring correct pin alignment.

Power Wire Mapping Schema: Plug the included power/UART harness into the dedicated VTX terminal socket. Solder the opposite bare wire leads to your Flight Controller (FC) pads: Red wire to a positive power pad (ensuring it matches your 1S-3S power distribution layout), Black wire to a Ground (GND) pad, and the remaining SmartAudio/UART line to a free flight controller TX pad.

RF Antenna Integration: Securely click a compatible 5.8G antenna (sold separately) onto the VTX board's U.FL RF terminal socket, ensuring it snaps down tightly. Use the included nylon zip-ties to route the antenna lead away from carbon fiber frame edges and spinning propellers.

Telemetry Protocol Calibration: Connect a flight pack to the drone and power up your HDZero FPV Goggles. Enter the Betaflight Configurator Peripheral tab, configure the chosen UART port to "Peripheral: MSP", and activate the HDZero VTX table to enable remote SmartAudio channel and power tuning via your radio transmitter sticks.

Notes

RF Transmission Safety Policy: Never connect a flight battery to the Whoop Lite VTX module without a 5.8G antenna clicked tightly onto the U.FL connector socket. Operating the VTX without an antenna prevents the transmitter from dissipating its RF energy, causing rapid heat buildup and permanent destruction of the primary amplification circuits.

Strict MIPI Interface Ribbon Safety: The ultra-fine 80mm 20-pin digital ribbon cable transmits high-frequency processing streams. Do not crease, make sharp 90-degree folds, or twist the ribbon line during canopy mounting, as microscopic trace fracturing will cause immediate digital video blackouts, severe data freezing, or permanent connection failure.

VTX Thermal Heat Management Policy: High-definition digital video transmitters generate rapid localized heat build-up while sitting idle on the bench without cross-flow ventilation. Avoid leaving the battery connected on the ground for extended setup periods; calibrate settings quickly or utilize a portable field fan to prevent automated thermal shutdown or component degradation.

Vibration Isolation Dampening: Always utilize the provided soft-mounting rubber grommets during installation. Running the VTX hard-mounted directly to rigid frame standoffs allows high-frequency motor vibration to transfer into the electronic board, which can result in loose ribbon seating, digital data errors, or physical component fatigue over time.
