Operational Instructions
Mechanical Mounting Integration: Place the 19mm camera housing between the structural side plates of your drone frame canopy. Use the included aluminum structural bracket and hardware screw kit to secure the module, adjusting the vertical tilt angle to match your forward flight velocity before final torque application.
Wiring Interface Connections: Connect the included 3-pin or 2-pin silicone cable harnesses to the back of the camera housing. Solder the opposite bare wire ends directly to your Flight Controller (FC) or Video Transmitter (VTX) circuit pads: Red wire to a positive power pad (5V–40V safe), Black wire to a Ground (GND) pad, and Yellow wire to the Video Input (CAM/Video) pad.
Menu Calibration Tuning: To toggle aspect ratios, signal formats, or fine-tune image characteristics, temporarily plug the included 5D-OSD menu board into the designated joystick interface pin path on the camera harness. Connect a flight pack to the drone, look through your FPV goggles, and navigate the on-screen configuration matrix using the joystick. Disconnect the OSD board before flight to save weight.
Pre-Flight Video Validation: Confirm that the 1200TVL analog video stream initializes instantly on your receiver screen. Ensure that contrast levels, backlight tracking, and exposures adapt smoothly when transitioning from dark tree lines or under-furniture shadows out into bright, direct skylines.
Notes
Strict Input Voltage Limits: Blackouts or permanent damage can occur if voltage thresholds are breached. While the robust built-in regulator safely manages an extensive input corridor up to 40V DC, never connect this module to unregulated setups prone to extreme inductive voltage spikes exceeding 40V (such as high-KV motors running on high-S cells without low-ESR capacitors), as doing so can breach internal protection boundaries and cause immediate component burnout.
Low-Grain RF Grounding Check: The exceptional 0.0001 Lux ultra-low-light capability relies on pristine electrical feeds. To prevent high-frequency electrical motor noise from injecting rolling diagonal lines across your video feed, ensure the camera shares a solid ground loop reference with the flight controller and video transmitter.
Avoid Mechanical Over-Tightening: When locking the side camera casing mounting screws into soft plastic whoop canopies or carbon fiber frame brackets, tighten only until light resistance is felt. Excessive torque can strip the internal soft threads of the casing, resulting in severe flight vibration blurring and erratic footage.
