The TowerPro SG90 9g Mini Servo is an ultra-lightweight analog actuator for light-payload articulation, custom pan-and-tilt FPV camera mounts, and control surfaces on micro aircraft. It features a nylon gear train, a compact 9g housing, a wide 3.0V to 7.2V operating window, and a 1.6 kg/cm torque ceiling at 6.0V.

Operational Instructions


Mounting: Secure the servo casing tabs using the included screws without over-tightening.


Centering: Power the servo and send a neutral signal (1500µs) to home the shaft before pressing the chosen horn onto the splines.


Wiring: Connect the universal block to your receiver or flight controller PWM rail: Brown/Black (GND), Red (+5V/+6V), Orange/Yellow (Signal).


Testing: Run a manual sweep to ensure control surfaces or camera mounts move freely without hitting structural frame plates.


Notes


Nylon Gear Limits: Optimized for low loads. Avoid using on high-velocity control surfaces or high-impact mechanisms that can strip nylon teeth.


Stall Risk: Ensure the mechanism does not jam. Physical blockages cause maximum current draw, leading to rapid heat buildup and electronic failure.


Analog Protocol Only: Use standard analog parameters (50 Hz to 60 Hz PWM frequency). High-frequency digital protocols will destroy the control board.


BEC Amperage: Ensure your 5V/6V BEC has enough continuous capacity (at least 2A to 3A) to handle current spikes and prevent flight controller brownouts.
